  • Metaphysical Fiction
  • and more…

The Cover Design Process

The process starts with a questionnaire about your novel and genre, and is followed up with a discussion/chat to clarify any questions. The deposit must be received before work can begin.
Presentation of first design rough: one to two cover ideas will be presented. At this point stock art elements may have a water-mark, and the image may have an over all rough incomplete look. The first round of feedback will determine the final direction of the cover.
Based on the feedback, one more version of the cover will be presented incorporating purchased assets and final illustrations, and then the refinement process begins.
The refinement process includes up to two more rounds of feedback and modifications.
Final payment must be received before files are delivered.

Pricing begins at $200.00. Specialized stock art, custom photography and extensive photoshop are not included and will be charged accordingly. All custom work requires a 25% deposit- the deposit is non-refundable reserved for a kill fee.

Internal Book Formatting

The formatting process is similar to the design process. Questions are necessary to understanding the scope of the work. Laura works with a program specifically designed to create book layouts that can be used for ebooks and for print. Illustrations can be added, but change the process slightly.

Pricing begins at $75 for a basic ebook, 1 map or image, and no illustrations.

Scheduling

Laura has profession expertise in print production and project management. You spent months, if not years writing your book. Don’t skip the production process in your rush to get your book out. Creating covers and interior layouts can take time, allow yourself the time for proofing and confirming files are as needed for the publishing process. Laura is happy to provide you with sample production schedules. Laura does not accept rush projects.
